A local authors can have quiet times and busy times. It is now the last week of February and things are busy.
With 4 books published and 4 on my laptop being edited or having illustrations completed times are busy. Space Ranger Fred is getting some much-needed attention and the promised Christmas story is on its way – yes I know it is only February but it takes that long!
Lindfield Life
Today I have a meeting with Lindfield Life about being a local author. I am not sure what to expect and believe it or not I am not big of publicity (Those who know me know me). But somehow I have a feature coming up in the popular magazine that has about 5,000 readers. This means Space Ranger Fred, Princess and Chicken and my other work will get some exposure. It has been a while since I did something like this.
World Book Day
World Book Day is happening on 3rd March. Having approached a few local schools I was amazed at the feedback – so much better than that in South Africa. I have had interest from a few schools and over the next few weeks, my books will be read to plenty of eager, ready-to-read school kids. As a local author, Lindfield Primary has booked me for 3 weeks in a row! I don’t charge for this and structure a deal whereby the school also makes money from my book sales – if you want to book me to read at your school please drop me a line.
